Indoor Air Quality

Indoor air quality issues may stem from simple HVAC system setting adjustments to significant design deficiencies.  In either case poor indoor air quality may lead to occupant discomfort or potential health effects in sensitive individuals, which in turn will result in poor productivity and potential friction between occupants and building management personnel.

Standards / Guidelines:

ASHRAE – American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, ASHRAE 55-2010 – Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy ASHRAE 62.1-2010 – Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality

– Inspection for odour and contamination sources

– Mould inspections and testing

– Comfort factor assessments

– Development of corrective Air Quality Management programs

– Recommendations for duct cleaning programs and preventative   maintenance scheduling

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

– Evaluation of HVAC design and function

– Evaluation of HVAC condition

Airflow Evaluation

– Qualitative evaluation of air distribution systems

– Quantitative evaluation and measurement of air distribution systems
